Few living room design tips

Living room spaces are an integral part of the home because it’s the common space where everyone gets together; whether it’s to watch a movie, play games, or even just to chill and have a conversation. It’s important to make this space feel comfy, inviting and open, and there’s a lot of ways you can execute that.

Here are a few tips from us.

Bring in the light

  • remove window treatments or just use lightweight curtains with light colors that reflect light and bring brightness into the room.

Bring in an organic feel

  • Adding plants, flowers, shells, acorns, sand in a glass, wood…, adds a taste of nature; therefore bringing life into your living space.

Create a focal wall in every room

  • Focal walls don’t have to be complicated. The wall that highlights the function of the room and draws attention upon entry is your focal wall. And your furniture is arranged around it to create a flow.
  • You can use wall art, wallpapers, panel molding, and or paint…, to distinguish your focal wall. More on how to create a focal wall for every room will follow in future blogs.

Use rugs to ground furniture whenever possible

  • Area rugs are a great way to divide up space and ground furniture so it doesn’t feel like it’s all floating. More on How to choose a correct rug for your space will follow in future blogs.

Make sure your furniture is the right scale to your space and the right proportion to each other.

  • Small furniture in a big space will make a room look empty and space wasted.
  • Large and/or too many furniture pieces in a small space can make a room feel cramped and small. There needs to be enough space for free flow and for furniture to breathe.
